My Word of The Year
I’ve decided on my Word of the Year!
I ran to Hobby Lobby today and the cashier asked me what my New Year’s Resolution was.
I can’t remember when last I set a New Year’s Resolution! Do people still do those?
Instead of setting a resolution, I’ve been setting a Word of The Year for the last few years. I think it was first inspired by Lara Casey.
I’ve had the word flourish, when my photography business bloomed.
I’ve had patience when we waited for another year for our visas.
This year, I have chosen a word that feels just right.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE YOUR WORD OF THE YEAR?
You set your intention for the year or how you want to feel and choose a word that best suits that feeling or intention.
And then you remind yourself of it throughout the 365 (366 this year) days to keep you working towards that intention/ feeling.
MY WORD OF THE YEAR: 2020
My Word of the Year for 2020 is BRAVE.
- Brave to build another business.
- Brave to know that I can do it.
- Brave to put myself out there more and get really visible.
- Brave enough to go on camera when it scares the crap out of me.
- Brave enough to take small steps daily.
- Brave enough to not hold myself back anymore.
Just yesterday, on the very first day of the new year, I put my word into practice and published a challenge and shared the news with friends and family what I would be doing with my life now that we’re settled in the USA.
Building a space to help others grow their businesses is something I’ve always wanted to do and now I’m finally being brave enough to do it.
What about you?
What are you working on this year?
What is your intention for the year? What is your word of the year? I’d love to hear!
